thanks

HI Gretchen,

At present, there are no plans to develop a MAC version of our tools (DemandTools/PeopleImport/JobBuilder). What we have found to work out well is either using something like Parallels or Amazon Web Services to mimic a Windows environment on a MAC...I am currently using Parallels.

Our application, DupeBlocker, is a cloud based app that does real time dupe prevention. It will also have an additional deduping cloud-based capability coming soon.

Thanks!

Olivia

Please re-think that position.  You really do need support for a Mac.  I don't want to run a Windows emulator with all of the related problems just for Demand Tools, which is what I do now.

Agreed!  I am a consultant and have had clients refuse to purchase your product because of this.

Cloud-based version would be ideal.

I second what Gretchen said.  I'm also a consultant and have had times where I can't convince a customer to buy DT because of the lack of Mac support.

Couldn't agree more. This is the single reason I don't even use my Demand Tools license, and with a growing team of administrators that are Mac enabled were are now having to look at replacement tools. A cloud based version would be ideal but installing a windows emulator just for DemandTools is not great.

Hey Olivia,

I too have been awaiting a Mac / cloud version of Demand Tools. It looks as if this is very low on your org's priority list. I also noted in your post that you use Parallels - does this mean that you are a mac user?

If so, how does Demand Tools run in this emulation? What issues have you encountered?

Thanks

Hi @tbeshr,

I wouldn't say it is low on our priority list as we recognize the need. True to form, and due to the complexity of this request, we are being methodical in our approach to satisfying this need.

For now, we do ask our MAC users to rely on a Windows emulator. I am using a MAC and Parallels and have had no issues running DemandTools in this environment. I also used BootCamp (is that still around?) about 5 years ago and the application had no issues on an emulator or partitioned drive even then. That's a good thing! I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Olivia

Thx Olivia.

What version of Win do you recommend? I will only use this for DemandTools and my preferance would be old school like Win XP.

Thx

Windows Vista and XP do not support TLS 1.2 and are therefore not compatible with DemandTools.

Here is a link to our System Requirements documentation

Thanks,

Olivia

I know this isn't a MAC version, but I thought maybe this would help illustrate what an easy process it is to use DemandTools in a Windows emulator.

CRMfusion will always strive to meet the needs of our users in a way they prefer. In the event that we are unable to, we at least like to provide support for the current way we can make it work.

Have a great week and please, keep giving us your input!

Olivia
