Single Table Dedupe with an Input Master/Merge File?

0

Is it possible to schedule a single table dedupe scenario where the "type" involves a master/merge file?

Yes. You can schedule a scenario where the record query is done via the loading of a master non-master file. When the scenario is saved, the file used is also saved with the scenario. You should be able to just add the scenario parameter in JobBuilder and the dupes in the file will merge.

JobBuilder is our free scheduling tool.

Thanks!

Sorry, I wasn't clear.  I was hoping to pass the master/merge filename into the process.

As an example, I have a large "chunk" of data that I cannot break down further with criteria to dedupe.  I can export the grid as a master/merge file and then split it up into smaller chunks.  The "scenario" is the same but with different files to process.

So, you are looking to export the duplicates from the grid? If so, below is a link that discusses how to export found duplicates (does not execute a merge of the records). Click on the Single Table Dedupe quick link at the top to drop to the relevant portion of the document.

I know how to do the export grid and how to run STD job builder scenarios.  I was hoping I could call an STD scenario and pass it the master/merge filename as a parameter.

You can...with my first response. 🙂 But - the file is saved with the scenario. So, the file cannot be called separately.

Sounds like a good feature request if I understood your need correctly. If so, feel free to post that here.
